What is Iddy Iddy Bang Bang? What kind of event is it?

A panfandom mini-bang challenge for >5k idfics with accompanying art and mixes.

Do you love idfics and want to read more of them? Has your Captain Kirk/OMC tribble-milking extravaganza never seen the light of day, but now you'd like it to? Do you not care who takes how many of what where? Then you're in the right place!

What is the length requirement?

Stories must have a minimum of 5,000 words. There is no upper limit.

What kinds of fanwork are eligible?

For 2015 we will be accepting stories, art and fanmixes.

Can I use a WIP?

You can, as long as it hasn’t been posted previously. We're tickled to be incentive for you to dust off your best OH JOHN RINGO NO drawerfics and finish them.

Will there be prompts?

Yes! There will be an optional prompt pool for you to play in should you be stuck for ideas - or if you have prompts you’re not using or would like to see written. Prompt claims and fills can be posted directly as comments to the prompt post. You can also claim a prompt to write as your Iddy Iddy Bang Bang fic (please note this in your author signup if so).

How does the claiming process work?

Comment on the prompt pool post – either to the post itself, or to the comment containing the prompt – and we will reclassify it in the post as claimed.

Will there be matching?

Yes! For interested artists and authors who haven't yet found something, there will be an opt-in round of random matching.

What's this about a kinkmeme?

In addition to the main fic event, Iddy Iddy Bang Bang will also feature a free-for-all prompt/claimfest in kink meme style. If you don't want to commit to writing 5,000 words of idfic, this is the id-playpen for you! Leave a prompt, fill a prompt (or as many as you like), all in the kinkmeme post itself.

At the end of sign-ups, all unclaimed prompts will be redirected to the kinkmeme.

Do I need a beta?

No! Since this is an idficfest a beta will not be required, although you may request/offer to beta read at the post here.

What if I can’t complete my assignment on time?

You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Seriously, we won't be mad, but please let us know ASAP! If you've claimed a prompt and defaulted on it, that prompt will be set free in the prompt pool.

What if I don't have a Dreamwidth account?

You can still sign-up, though you will need a DW account to post your work to the community. If you have LJ you can use Open ID. If you have neither or would like to be completely anonymous, you can sign up with an email and we will gladly post for you.

How will fic/art/mixes be submitted, and where?

At this comm: There will be a posting period (Oct 15-22) during which participants can post finished stories (and accompanying art/mixes) to the community. The posting schedule is based on sign-ups received and will be determined later (watch the comm for updates!).

At AO3: You can also post your fic, art or mix to the Iddy Iddy Bang Bang collection on AO3. Reveals will happen on the last day of the posting period.

What is idfic?

We are not defining what qualifies as idfic content-wise. Your story doesn't have to be porny, though it may be. Generally speaking, if it tickles your id, it's go!

I'm still not sure what an idfic is!

Rules

Writers:
• Stories must be a minimum of 5,000 words. There is no maximum length.
• Stories may be any rating, with any kind and any number of relationships.
• Stories do not have to be beta-read, but it is highly encouraged.
• AUs, crossovers, and origfic are allowed.
• Continuations of existing WIPs or drawerfics are allowed.

Artists:
• Traditional art, digital art, photomanips and vids are all allowed.
• Art may be an illustration or cover art, and may be any rating.
• Please respect any DNWs by the author.
• Continuations of an existing WIP or drawerart is allowed.

Mixers:
• You must be able to post a public playlist on Youtube or another music hosting site.
• Mixes may be any rating.
• You can design your own cover art, or look for an artist at the post ~~here.~~ TBA!
• Please respect any DNWs by the author.

All:
• Please do not post your fanwork publicly prior to the reveal period, which is Oct 15-22.
• Should you need to drop out, please let us know ASAP! We won't be mad, promise.
