The good news: I decided on a fic! (Locked Tomb, Pyrrha/Gideon Nav Cohort AU, wherein Pyrrha thinks a lot about how much Gideon resembles her mom, that I've been thinking about for the last year.)

The less good news: not quite a thousand words in, but I'm still optimistic.

Currently having some internet issues so I don’t have as much typed up yet, but I’ve got some handwritten thoughts and plans going!

So I decided to change what I was working on and have actually completed a story which is a scene in my Labyrinth 2 'verse. It's completed for the scene and is a couple hundred past the 5k mark.

But now I'm toying with another idea and we'll see how it ends up...

Decided to change what I was writing for THIS challenge originally as it just goes PERFECTLY for another challenge I'm needing to get done by the end of the month. But if I DO end up tackling this other idea I've had, it'll be the start of a new 'verse, a rather large multi-fandom crossover, and will probably end up decidedly longer as well... Probably. No promises.

Not a lot of progress so far, because I've been sidetracked by another project that's taken much longer than hoped to finish, but I've pulled out the drawerfic and started dusting it off. It's got about 3k words and is all pretty usable, so I'm still confident I can finish by the posting date.

Things are happening? I'm writing this interactive fic in twine so I'm writing the coding first and then adding the fic bits on top of it. Code is much farther along than writing, so I need to start reigning myself in and working on the actual fiction parts.

I'm hesitant to say I'll finish before posting begins, but I am trying.

I haven't started, Battleship stole all my free time. And the latest installment of canon isolated the OT3 in their own subplot and then had barely a whisper of meaningful interaction between them, which is lowering my enthusiasm. We'll see how I'm feeling by next check-in.

If 1000 words is comparable to 1 minute of vid (which seems standard in other exchanges and fests), then I'm working under the premise that 5000 words would be comparable to 5 minutes of vid.

So am planning 2 vids.

Vid #1 - I have a complete draft. YAY! Right now it needs some tightening up on the structuring... which means I'll let it marinate for a few days and then I"ll fuss with it some more.
Vid #2 - I have everything clipped and my song procured.

I think I'm on track! I have 3900 words, which translates to 2/7 complete chapters and a bunch of incomplete scenes from later ones. I'm still super excited for this story and so glad to be doing it for this challenge :3

Hooray, check-in! Things are... happening. Definitely happening. I've fully settled on an idea but aside from a few scattered paragraphs, I have yet to reign in many coherent thoughts and sentences. We'll see how the next few weeks go, and if real life is kind when dishing out responsibilities!

So, hum, just wanted to add this. Just wrote a new tale of slightly over 8,000 words tonight, and it's definitely something I needed to write for me, I think, given it hits on a lot of things that have had me stressing for a while. And is also something I don't think will be appreciated by the main population. ;)

I have about 2k that I'm really happy with, and lots of indulgent rambling that needs to be turned into a readable fic format. But like. There is a lot of indulgent rambling, and I don't want to cut any of the concepts out, so I need to find a decent halfway point where I can stop and write a sequel later or really get booking on the writing process. Feeling generally positive and pleased, though!

Progress has been slow-going recently, but does continue. I have first drafts of a lot of the big scenes done, but there are a couple of subplots that I think I'd like to build out more than I initially realized.
