(I'm assuming that you know the canon. Much of this won't make sense if you don't.)
The first story in the branching AU, "Not Ready to Swallow Oblivion," diverged during Homecoming when the bad guys won due to Warren's mother (and, thus, Warren) being a secret villain. Warren ended up in control of Sky High and locked Ethan, Layla, Magenta, and Zach in the girls' locker room. In the first story, they escape.
The second branch diverges from the first when their escape fails and covers snapshots of the next several years as the four former sidekicks work for Warren, trying to protect the people they care about and not to become terrible people. The five of them end up in a poly relationship of dubious consensuality. Layla gradually gets scarier and scarier in terms of the things she's able to do with her powers but isn't quite ready to accept that.
Those two branches run 94K words and five stories. The second branch ends with Layla's father arriving on Sky High, six years after Homecoming, after being badly injured and then captured. He stays to help Layla find her balance.
This third branch starts from the what if of Layla's father not coming to Sky High. It starts about twelve years after Homecoming and with Layla deciding that she's ready, now to take over the world. Ethan, Magenta, and Zach have been waiting for years for her to say the word. Warren has known it was coming but not seen anything he was willing to do to stop it.
The IIBB part is several chapters of what they do to Warren. They're all really, really angry with him but also emotionally attached.
I already posted a single story that might cap this branch or might branch from it. That story makes sense on its own and doesn't match the tone and rating of the rest. I started out thinking it should be a chapter of the IIBB, but it isn't, can't be.
Of course, I consider the whole project generally iddy because my id works in weird ways.
