I think I'm gonna try to churn most of this thing out between now and when Camp Nano ends, since the idea I bullshitted out of thin air for this is already more compelling to me than the thing I cooked up specifically for Camp Nano.

Several times I've tried to start an original project for a NaNo event and wound up writing fic instead. Those usually turn out pretty well, though!

My fic sign up is going to be pure porn. I suck at writing porn. I tend to be very timid in my descriptions, and I haven't written kink yet. But by god I am going to try for this!

It's nice that the only person I will really disappoint if this all goes sideways is myself.

Woohoo, fellow timid porn writer :D My descriptions usually end up so lacking, since my kinks lie more in pairing dynamics than sexy acts, but we'll see how it works out. I'm not a particularly good writer anyway, so at least if it doesn't work out, it won't exactly be a sudden and random dip in quality, haha.

I started in fandom writing giant robots. For some reason, I'm less awkward about writing two giant robots banging than people. Mostly it's because the terminology is really tough for me when it comes to humans. I mean, what do you call the parts? Half the time it seems so clinical (his penis) and the other half it reads like bad purple prose (his throbbing love shaft).

I'm so excited about writing idfic but right now I have several ideas and I haven't narrowed it down to one thing yet. I'm considering pulling a few plot points together and then just going for it. I'm going to be writing Teen Wolf fic, if anyone is interested in that still. The fandom has such a grip on me.

Just checked and I've got 20k words down for my origfic sign up. Not that I'm in a rush or anything :p

Meanwhile, I am still stuck at barely 2k words for the Vetinari/Drumknott angel AU. I already know everything that is going to happen, I'm just a bit hung up over the in-between bits, like the bit after they meet where they get to know each other. I'll probably just write the scenes I do know for now and hopefully the blanks will fill in themselves afterwards.

I haven't written anything in years (just lurked) but every once in a while I'll re-read one of my fics and remember that I used to enjoy writing a lot. There's something about the process of creating a small universe that didn't exist before and I did this! :-D So I'd like to get back into it. My life is getting a little more in control and maybe it's time to try again.

This idfic is a prequel to a story I wrote almost fifteen years ago. It was a darkfic AU to canon and I'd put enough flashbacks to the past and clues for the future that I realized I could write dozens of fics to flesh it out. I have added a few stories but not the origin fic and that's what this would be.

Good luck to all the other porny writers. Porn is going to be a good third of my fic so I sympathize.

I'm planning on reworking a ridiculous drawerfic that I've been dumping prose into for years. It started out as Serious Fic (though still iddy), and gradually became a porn extravaganza of dubious fix-itness. The first thing I need to do is cut a whole lot of it, because I've been using it to write up any hot-to-me scenario that pops into my brain, and, no matter how much I am supposed to be indulging my id, some of these scenes just can't exist in the same continuity as the others. I will also have to impose some skeleton of plot.

I'm a champion at dropping out of big bangs, but third thirteenth or whatever I'm up to now may just be the charm.

Aaaaah, it has been such a long time since I've participated in any sort of bang! It's kind of nervewracking - and at the same time, comforting to know that if I fuck up the only person I'm going to disappoint is myself (as opposed to a recip in an exchange, I mean).

Thankfully, I've already gotten a decent headstart on this iddy fic because I was writing it for Camp NaNo. I hit a speedbump as I ended up having to research things (Star Wars' Order 66 is a clusterfuck of trying to figure out who is where doing what), but I'm hoping that signing up for IIBB will keep me plugging along.

I'm excited, I've figured out how to approach this story, and it's going to be fun to write. I'm abandoning plot entirely. All my ideas for plot seemed tacked on, so my best friend suggested I go the Waiting for Godot route and just focus on characters and their relationships. So that's what I'm gonna do. It's exciting because I've never written like this before! :D :D :D

I'm a little over 1k in now.

I don't think so, especially if it's detachable ... but since we're a community of idders, I'll admit that I have definitely considered an AU of my origfic where Garland is a secret tentacle monster and does all kinds of tentacle things to Aurel. It would be fitting tbh, considering how ... ardent ... Garland is ...

I finished the origfic, by the way. It's 57k words ^^ Now to get on the Vetinari/Drumknott soppy AU.

Vetinari probably despises me right now. But it's only because he's #1 in my heart that he's also, uh ... my first choice of victim, haha. I just love making him pine, and making him force himself to pine even more due to the canon dangers of him and Drumknott entering into a relationship with each other. On the other hand, I sometimes do some terrible things to Drumknott to crush Vetinari even further ...
