Notes: This is a canon divergent AU that’s a what-if-things-were-worse AU of a fic I recently wrote and posted to AO3, They Come Knocking Like Hearts Asking. Knowing what happened in that is kind of necessary to having this make sense. It’s just that the things-might-work-out ending didn’t happen, and Merlin had a much, much worse time of things and is a lot more fucked up and a lot angrier.
At any rate…hurting Luke doesn’t make Merlin like himself any better, but it does make him feel safer.

Summary: After deciding to resign from his father's company, and having his father try to blackmail him into staying, Akashi feels like he needs to not be responsible for anyone for a little while, so he goes to Kiyoshi's apartment. There's a fair bit of casual conversation over coffee before they get to the real reason Akashi came over that night; he requests a scene with Kiyoshi. It's not the first time they've played together, and their relationship is platonic with no sexual elements in their BDSM.
The scene itself includes both unsupported bondage and bondage using some repurposed exercise equipment (Kiyoshi's background in bondage comes primarily from the martial arts side with hojoujutsu rather than from the BDSM side), blindfolds, and wax play/temperature play (specifically, Kiyoshi writing kanji on Akashi's back with wax and ice).
