What happens to the two claims I (probably) can't fulfill? Do they just vanish or can I fill them later? (Outside of the collection.)

I dropped my claims on AO3 the other day, but I figured I should probably mention it directly here too. I won't be able to finish it the way I want by the deadline, but I'm saving the ideas and research for the next round!
