My original idea proved too ambitious and not iddy enough; I'm shelving it for a later bang. But I am over a thousand words in to a shorter and iddier idea for the same fandom! I should know by the drop date whether or not it's going to be done in time, but I think the odds are in my favor.

The reason is actually a nice one - I got a job! A temporary job, but a job! - but it's still frustrating as all hell to have to back out now. I just don't think I can guarantee getting it done right, though, not while I'm in spreadsheet hell. But I'm holding out for a completed fic by the end of the month, so I'm aiming for an amnesty date instead!

Thanks to Harvey (I live in Texas), I did not make nearly as much progress on my fic these last couple weeks as I had hoped. But I'm not ready to give up yet. I think I can make it if I really focus, but I'll decide for sure by the drop day. (I do think I can make amnesty for sure. Just not positive yet about the posting period.)

I'll have to drop my Vetinari/Drumknott sign-up >: I've written so many drafts, tried so many things, if I wrote on my paper I'd probably be responsible for the death of a whole forest by now. I've been in a bit of a slump this August, so I guess my muse for those two will just have to come home at its own pace.

My origfic is done though~ Still don't have a beta so I'm not sure about it, but there's not much more I can do for it after editing it myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
